Etsy redesign

over the past year, Etsy has made some great new changes the the funcionality of their site!  One of them is an expanced "about" section for each shop.  I did a quick mock-up here.  Check it out!  give me feedback!

milestones

most people who must tackle a big project succeed by focusing on small goals and milestones. I'm not really one of those people...

I really wish I was but I get mired down in clutter (both real and figuratively). I lose my way. My priorities change and I'm left with half done projects. BUT every so often, determination sets in...

BIG MILESTONE:
last week, I hit 100 sales in our etsy shop. sure, our shop has been active since May 2010 so it took nearly 2 years to get there but I'm still happy with the forward movement and I'm very proud of the funds raised for AFSP!

so, here's to the milestones ahead!

technically, this is week 8 right now... (of the one a week challange for 2012) I've been good at posting new items in the shop but don't seem to find ways to motivate myself to share them on here... mostly that's because I don't really consider myself a blogger. In fact, I used to highly disapprove of most blogs as self-glorifying and poorly written loud speakers. But, I've come to learn more about what they have to offer... I bookmark and follow several and quite frankly the world is a new place! shame on me.

so, moving forward I won't put pressure on myself to repost new listings here each week but, I'll try to keep up some sort of more regular pace. =)

this item is one of several new bracelet and cuffs made from scrap wood. I love the process of designing, cutting/shaping and sanding (and sanding and more sanding) but the absolute best part is oiling and waxing the piece to reveal it's true beauty! I love love love that part!

week 3's item was just posted- it's a beautiful frosted blue and can be worn in several different ways

this cotton-blend cowl has coral colored pom poms and lots of style! it was super fun to make and I hope it finds a good home.

week 1

as part of the 2012 One a Week Challenge, this is week one's item! enjoy!

Penguins

In preparation of the 2012 One-A-Week challenge, I've been making several items and hope to post a few over the next few days and then a few more in the coming weeks. Does that mean that I'm cheating at my own challenge? sheesh, off to a great start... :)

I hope the holidays have been a time of cheer and warmth for everyone! This year, I didn't gift-craft very much and it felt strange and of course- much less creative. Where I hope that the gifts we gave were enjoyed, I they were less intimate/meaningful. here's to next year!

100% cowl circle scarf

just posted this item in the shop today, along with several others. It feels super great to be caught up (for the most part) with taking photos and getting things posted!!!

I love working with 100% cotton yarn and after making one of these for my cousin, who wears it a lot, I thought I should make some more! Maybe she could be my model! =) What's great about this stitch is that the cowl can be reshaped- pull it in either direction and it can become tall and thin for a hood or short and wide for a longer drape in the cowl.

One-A-Week

I'm relatively new to the blogosphere, I'm just plain slow on the uptake... I don't quite have the hang of what to post...

One-A-Week is a year long challenge where etsy crafters make (at least) one item each week and list the item in their shop. The goal is that this is something that would help refine my work over the next year as well as possibly building my buisness!
